Google to Nix Chrome Support for Third-Party Cookies by 2022

Google says it has a two-year timeline for phasing out support for third-party cookies in its Chrome browser. Tracking cookies, which allow advertisers to virtually follow people around the web, are used for ad targeting. The move follows a number of privacy hardening steps by Google for its Chrome web browser. Google also plans to go beyond removing support for tracking cookies in the browser. Apple uses what it calls intelligent tracking prevention and Microsoft s Edge browser also include tools to block tracking.
