Google is testing a new key-exchange algorithm in its Chrome browser. The “New Hope” scheme is designed to provide “post-quantum security for TLS” Google cautions that its Chrome test qualifies as bleeding-edge experimentation and says it may not prove to be secure. The tests will be carried out over the next couple of years for a small fraction of connections between Google’s domains and people using its Canary version of Chrome, which the company uses to test new features. Google will continue to employ the widely used elliptic curve cryptography algorithm in Chrome.”]
