Google Stored G Suite Users’ Passwords in Plain-Text for 14 Years

Google accidentally stored unhashed passwords of some of its G Suite users on internal servers in plaintext for 14 years because of a bug in the password recovery feature. The company says the passwords were stored not on the open Internet but on its own secure encrypted servers. Facebook and Twitter are the latest tech companies to have accidentally stored their users’ passwords unprotected in plain text on their internal servers. Google says the issue has been fixed and there is no evidence of improper access to or misuse of the affected passwords.
