Google Needs to Make More Privacy Improvements, Says Information Commissioner

Information Commissioner’s Office says Google needs to strengthen its privacy policies. Google admitted in May 2010 to collecting payload data from unencrypted Wi-Fi networks it was indexing as part of its Street View imaging. ICO declined to impose a fine and demanded that Google submit to an audit of its privacy polices. Google should also ensure that its products have a so-called “privacy story,” used to educate users about products’ privacy features, the agency says.
