Google is tightening its privacy controls over its Google Assistant voice assistant after a report earlier this year found that it was eavesdropping on user conversations. The tech giant on Monday promised more transparency around the audio data that it collects, more user control over audio privacy preferences, as well as greater security protections around the collection process. Google is also updating its policy to vastly reduce the amount of audio data we store, by automatically deleting the vast majority of users audio data.
