Google acquires sound authentication start-up SlickLogin

Israeli startup develops alternative means of web-based authentication. Uses sound waves as a means of verifying a users identity. App on your smartphone picks up the sound and logs you into the site you were trying to access. Terms of the deal with SlickLogin, which is undisclosed, remain undisclosed. Team will continue to work on security and authentication technology as part of Google’s research and development centre in Israel.
