Global Payments Inc. will provide an update about its investigation and the hack that exposed details about more than 1.5 million credit and debit cards. The Atlanta-based payments processor plans to release additional information about the potential financial impact of the breach. The company says it has made “substantial progress” in its investigation into the incident. Global says only non-sensitive Track 2 card data, which does not include names, addresses or Social Security numbers, was exposed. Global CEO Paul Garcia said the company deemed the breach to be “manageable,” not by an outside party.”]
