Georgia couple pleads guilty to IRS ‘Get Transcript’ fraud scheme involving IRS’ Get Transcript database. Defendants obtained names and Social Security numbers of taxpayers from unknown sources. They filed false tax returns using the stolen identities and information obtained from the IRS database. The IRS suspended Get Transcript’s online viewing and downloading features last May, although the information can be obtained through an email request. A third defendant, Rapheal Atebefia, also of the Atlanta suburb of Austell, Georgia, pleaded guilty last month.”]
