Tennessee-based retailer Genesco is taking a major card brand and payment processor to court over PCI noncompliance fines. For the first time, a merchant has taken Visa to court against the card brand. The case has the potential to disrupt the influence of PCI’s influence in the merchant community. Some security experts say the case should be a cautionary tale for all merchants to step up their security game or suffer the consequences.
