Garmin confirms ransomware attack, services coming back online

Garmin has officially confirmed that they were victims of a ransomware attack as they slowly bring their Garmin Connect, Strava, inReach, and flyGarmin navigation and fitness services back online. The outage was caused by a WastedLocker Ransomware attack that forced Garmin to shut down all of their devices to prevent them from being encrypted. The Evil Corp cybercrime group is known for their use of the Dridex banking and downloader trojan in hacking operations. Garmin has no indication that any customer data, including payment information from Garmin Pay , was accessed, lost or stolen.
