FBI, Europol, Microsoft, ESET Team Up, Dismantle One of World’s Largest Malware Operations

The Andromeda/Gamarue botnet network spread Gamarue aka Wauchos malware. The malware spread more than 1.1 million computers a month. It spread the malware via multiple botnets via multiple different botnets. The FBI, Europol and Microsoft took down the botnet operation on November 29. An individual in Belarus has been arrested in connection with the operation, which disarmed some 1,500 domains and IP addresses used for botnet command-and-control servers and 80 related malware families.”]
