A new report has quantified just how much speed matters in responding to cyberattacks. The median time to detect in the attacks studied by Aberdeen Group was 38 days. In attacks designed to steal confidential data, detection and response twice as fast meant a reduction in business impact of 30%. A good patch-management regimen is at the top of the list.
