Facebook has removed four networks of accounts, pages and groups tied to Iran and Russia. The company says these pages were spreading misinformation related to the 2020 U.S. presidential election and other political events. The removal of these pages is part of a larger effort by Facebook to clamp down on “coordinated inauthentic behavior” Facebook says it plans to monitor suspicious accounts for suspicious behavior. The move comes as Facebook, as well as other social media platforms, are under increasing scrutiny by elected officials for how bad actors are using technology to spread misinformation.”]
