At DEFCON 22, we released exploits for the Samsung Smartcam network camera in our Hack All The things presentation. These exploits allowed for remote command execution and the ability to arbitrarily change the cameras administrator password. After being alerted to the vulnerabilities, Samsung reacted by removing the entire locally accessible web interface. This angered a number of users and crippled the device from being used in any DIY monitoring solutions. Seemingly all vulnerabilities found by us as well as those found by others are patched.”]
