EU Privacy Watchdog Calls for Ban of NSO Group’s Spyware

EU Privacy Watchdog urges EU officials to ban use of military-grade surveillance products. EU watchdog cites “unprecedented risks and damages” to rights and freedoms of individuals. NSO Group’s flagship spyware tool, Pegasus, is designed to attack smartphones running either iOS or Android operating systems. The spyware can “turn a mobile phone into a 24-hour surveillance device” with complete access to sensors, sent/received messages, stored photos, voice/video calls, the geolocation module and the device camera.”]
