Error 56. Has the iOS 9.3.2 update turned your iPad Pro into a brick?

Apple released iOS 9.3.2 update to iOS yesterday and millions of iPad and iPhone users updated their systems. Some owners of the hefty 9.7 inch iPad Pro are now stuck at a prompt telling them to plug it into a computer running iTunes. Apples support documentation describes the problem as a hardware error – but it is unlikely that all affected users have been affected by the problem. The problem is described (somewhat unhelpfully) as Error 56, which Apple describes as a hardware error.”]
