Equifax hack affected 145.5 million individuals, 2.5M more than originally stated

Equifax data breach may affect 2.5 million more customers than originally stated. Hackers accessed names, social security numbers, dates of birth, addresses and, in some cases, drivers license numbers and credit card numbers. The company hired the security firm Mandiant to investigate the incident, it has already completed the forensic analysis of the affected systems. Mandiant was not able to find further evidence of new attacker activity or any unauthorized access to new databases or tables. There is no evidence the attackers accessed databases located outside of the United States.”]
