Epsilon, the world’s largest email service provider, has been breached by spear phishing attacks. Attackers use fake yet personalized yet personalized emails to trick people into disclosing personal information, including passwords and financial details. Customers of at least 50 major companies, including Best Buy, Citi, Marriott, Target, Target and Walgreens, are at risk. Epsilon says attackers stole only 2% of its customer data, but by some estimates stores 250 million emails, that’s a sizeable breach. “The real lesson to be learned is that companies are still responsible to their customers,” says security analyst John Pescatore.”]
