European Union Agency for Network and Information Security releases white paper on industrial control systems. Industrial control systems are increasingly vulnerable to cyber-attacks. They’re widely used in manufacturing, healthcare, public utilities and manufacturing. The systems frequently have software vulnerabilities and have little built-in security, lacking code signing or basic authentication, says Billy Rios. Targeting these systems could disrupt critical operations, such as cause a water pump at a treatment plant to fail, or destroy centrifuges as the Stuxnet malware did in Iran’s nuclear facility.”]
