EMC Foots $66 Million Bill For RSA Attack

EMC Corporation spent $66 million during the second quarter on its security firm division RSA to recover from a cyberattack that compromised their SecurID product in March. The money went towards monitoring the accounts of their corporate customers and replacing tokens to companies that requested them. EMC s executive vice president David Goluden in the call said they incurred an accrued cost associated with investigating the attack, hardening our systems and working with customers to implement our programs. The compromise at RSA may have led to the attacks on Lockheed Martin.
