Dutch police arrests suspect behind DDoS attacks on government sites

A 19-year-old man from Breda, Netherlands, arrested for allegedly carrying out distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks. Two Dutch government websites were shut down for several hours on March 19, 2020. One of the attacked government websites is Overheid.nl, a guide to services and information from all government organizations in the Netherlands frequently visited by Dutch citizens because of the COVID-19 outbreak. DDoS-for-hire services (aka stressers) are used by threat actors, pranksters or hacktivists to launch large-scale DDoS attacks against sites.
