The Stuxnet worm was a wildly successful cyberattack, but it was also a major failure on at least two fronts. The worm’s design implies that it was never supposed to be found. After exposure, hackers loyal to Iran or its allies are now changing the code to suit their own cyberterrorism needs. The U.S. should have failsafes in place should the worm be compromised or turned back against its infrastructure in the future.
