Government Accountability Office report: 60 percent of weapons contracts from the U.S. Department of Defense do not include cybersecurity requirements. The GAO found examples of program contracts omitting cybersecurity requirements, acceptance criteria or verification processes. The lack of cybersecurity requirements in weapons contracts opens the door for dangerous cyberattacks, according to the report. DoD has developed a range of policies aimed at hardening the security for its weapon systems, but the guidance leaves out a key detail the contracts for procuring various weapons.
