DNSChanger malware victims may face internet switch off: ACMA

Up to 10,000 Australians have devices which are infected with the DNSChanger malware. Malware re-routes the affected person’s traffic through rogue DNS servers without their knowledge. If you don’t remove the malware, you won’t be able to connect to the internet after 9 July when the FBI’s servers are switched off. The six cyber criminals behind the malware were arrested in November 2011 but the Federal Bureau of Investigation took control of the rogue servers and replaced them with legitimate servers. ACMA is working with internet service providers to help inform their customers that may be infected.”]
