DigiNotar Dies From Certificate Hack Caper

Dutch company DigiNotar was hacked earlier this summer by certificate thieves. U.S.-based owner Vasco Data Security International purchased the company for $13.1 million in January. Security expert says browser makers’ moves to block, then bar, certificates also played a part in company’s demise. Security consultant: “It’s unlikely that many people are going to shed many tears over the death of a CA” Microsoft, Google, Microsoft, Mozilla and Mozilla have declined to comment.”]
