Russian state-backed actors are most likely behind the attacks on Ukraine, analysts say. Microsoft has identified threat indicators targeting a range of industries, including government, financial services, transportation and utilities. The malware is a Master Boot Record (MBR) wiper, which Microsoft has named WhisperGate, which has already been used against government systems, non-profit organizations and IT companies in Ukraine.
