Demo Exploit Code Available for Privilege Escalation Bug in Windows

Vulnerability affects Windows 10, Windows Server 2019, Core Installation and Core Installation. Attackers with low privileges could run processes with increased permissions on Windows 10. Microsoft says the vulnerability could be exploited even on unpatched systems. Attacker could install programs, or modify data on the affected system, Microsoft says in an advisory. The vulnerability consists in improper handling of hard links by AppX Deployment Service (AppXSVC) used for launching Windows Apps, installing and uninstalling them. A security researcher discovered the flaw and reported it to Microsoft.
