Data Breach at ‘Resident Evil’ Gaming Company Widens

Capcom, the game developer behind Resident Evil, Street Fighter and Dark Stalkers, now says its recent attack compromised the personal data of up to 400,000 gamers. This is the third update from the company on the incident. The Ragnar Locker ransomware group is the most likely culprit. The company says it doesn’t think any customer credit-card data was exfiltrated during the breach. Capcom says it’s currently safe to play and purchase the company s games online.
