Taiwanese networking equipment manufacturer D-Link settles FTC lawsuit. FTC sued for failing to secure devices sold in the U.S. The FTC said the company failed to take reasonable steps to protect routers and IP cameras from widely known and reasonably foreseeable risks of unauthorized access. The company also did not follow secure software development practices, “including testing and remediation to address well-known and preventable security flaws”” The FTC says D-link is bound to follow a comprehensive software security program designed to ensure that the company’s routers and cameras are secure.”
