The National Institute of Standards and Technology released a cybersecurity framework on Feb. 12. The framework provides best practices for use in all critical infrastructure sectors, including healthcare, healthcare and transportation. Government officials say the success of the framework will be measured by how many organizations actually use it and whether it, indeed, “reduces cybersecurity risk” Microsoft’s Angela McKay stresses that depends on whether the private sector can successfully implement the framework as a voluntary set of security best practices. The White House is not looking and pushing for new regulations, she says.”]
