Cyberattacks Against K-12 Schools Expected to Rise in 2021, FBI Warns

The FBI expects a proliferation of cyber threats targeting K-12 schools and distance learning platforms. Last months of 2020 were marked by an uptick in DDoS and ransomware attacks that have hindered teachers and students ability to connect remotely. Ransomware attacks on US school districts led to the loss of thousands of student records, with no means of data recovery on-site. The FBI is working to engage school personnel, parents and students to remain vigilant against attempts to exploit the challenges of remote learning and classrooms.”]
