Cryptomining Malware Continues to Surge as Cybercriminals Cash In

McAfee Labs report shows cybercriminals are still raking in big bucks from cryptomining malware. The price of Bitcoin has steadily declined, especially over the summer of this year due to concerns with the currency. Malware samples that exploit software vulnerabilities increased 151% during the second quarter of 2018. Ransomware remains a significant concern, according to the company’s report.
