Consumer Data Privacy Rights: Emerging Tech Blurs Lines

From drones to facial recognition, new technology applications are introducing unique privacy issues for civil society. Privacy is a fundamental human right for consumers, but new ways in which data is collected and shared are blurring the lines of privacy. Lawmakers are taking steps for their part, but still have a long way to go, says Janet De Guzman with Opentext, speaking at ENFUSE 2019 in Las Vegas. The expansion of data collection to public spaces is spurring new questions around consent and ability for consumers to opt out.
