Researchers are sounding the alarm on threats to enterprise security from insecure application programming interfaces (APIs) Salt Security released a report on API security that combined responses from a survey the vendor conducted of 200 IT and security professionals with empirical data from the company’s customers. The most common API security incident reported for 2020 was finding a vulnerability in a production API, says Michelle McLean, a vice president at Salt Security. The number of API attacks per month per customer jumped from 50 last June to nearly 80 in December.”]
