The White House did not threaten to veto two cyberthreat information-sharing bills. Instead, the White House issued two similarly worded Statements of Administration Policy offering a carrot. The bills would provide liability protections against civil and criminal legal actions to incentivize businesses to share information. Without veto threats, both bills are expected to be approved. The Senate also is considering cyberthreat info-sharing legislation, but no date for a vote has been set for a Senate vote on the bills.
