Metropolitan State College employee’s laptop was stolen from employee’s home late last month. Employee was using the data to write a grant proposal and write a master’s thesis, college says. Data appears to have been unencrypted, and college is reviewing policies regarding unencrypted information. Denver police asked the school to wait until March 1 to go public with news of the theft to help with investigation. Students who registered for Metropolitan State courses between 1996 fall semester and 2005 summer semester are now being notified of the incident via letter.”]
