Chrome Will Mute All Sites With Auto-Playing Sound by Default Starting 2018

Google engineers have announced changes in the way Chrome will handle websites with auto-playing audio. Chrome will mute all sites by default where the audio comes from unintended places, such as ad slots. Chrome 64 is scheduled for release on January 23, 2018. Chrome 63 will also be the first browser version that will mark FTP links as “Not Secure”” The change was announced yesterday via a Google Groups discussion on Google’s Chrome web site site page page page. Google Chrome 64 will be released in early December.”
