Callisto Group Repurposed Dumped Hacking Team Spying Tool

Finnish security firm F-Secure has labeled the Callisto Group, which it says has been using the “Scout” spyware tool developed by controversial Italian firm Hacking Team. The group’s chief aim appears to be intelligence-gathering, especially relating to security and foreign policies, the Finnish firm says. It’s not clear who’s behind the group, but it’s still active and continues to create new phishing infrastructure on a weekly basis, it says. The malware is a lightweight backdoor designed for this type of reconnaissance, and includes the ability to capture screenshots as well as install additional malware.”]
