British Spy Chief Blasts U.S. Tech Sector

British spy chief Robert Hannigan accuses U.S. tech giants of enabling crime, terrorism and child abuse. Hannigan is the new director of Britain’s eavesdropping agency, GCHQ, which is Britain’s equivalent to the NSA. Facebook, Google, Microsoft and Twitter all declined to comment on Hannigan’s remarks. Privacy advocates say GCHQ has already lost the privacy debate after Edward Snowden leaks. GCHQ’s Tempora program taps 200 transatlantic fiber-optic cables and has access to 21 petabytes of data per day.”]
