Breach Notification: Canada Prepares for Nov. 1

Attorney Ruth Promislow says Canada’s new breach notification requirements will force organizations to shift from reactive to proactive approach to incident response. She discusses the risks of not preparing for compliance with the new legislation. Promislows practices commercial litigation with a focus on commercial crime, including cybersecurity, Ponzi schemes, investment fraud, employee fraud and anti-money laundering. She oversees and conducts internal investigations for clients, working with internal and external auditors. She works with clients to develop and implement action plans following a cybersecurity or other fraudulent attack and also advises on steps to prevent against such attacks.”]
