Botnet Targets Devices Running Microsoft SQL Server: Report

‘Vollgar’ botnet has been active since at least May 2018, researchers say. Botnet can infect up to 3,000 Microsoft SQL Server databases each day with malware. Vollgar has targeted organizations in several sectors in the U.S., China, India, South Korea and Turkey. The botnet also attempts to eliminate other competing malware from infected servers, the researchers determined. In about 60 percent of the cases, the attack only lasts for about two days, but some attacks can last one to two weeks.”]
