New legislation would give the U.S. Senate’s sergeant at arms responsibility to help secure personal devices. The bill would allow the sergeant of the Senate to provide cybersecurity assistance for personal accounts and devices to senators and certain staff members. This could include assistance with security for personal hardware, cell phones, tablets and other internet-connected devices, as well as personal accounts, including email, text messaging, cloud computing and social media. The legislation is already drawing support from government watchdogs and the security industry.”]
