A new generation of ransomware known as PowerLocker — aka Prison Locker — is designed to lock PCs using uncrackable crypto. Malware Must Die, a group of self-styled anti-malware crusaders, published a blog post Friday. The group said it’s not trying to stoke ransomware fear, uncertainty, and doubt, but it hopes that law enforcement agencies will launch related investigations and nip the malware in the bud.
