Beware of Phones Scams Pretending to be the IRS

Over the past couple of weeks there has been a major increase in phone scams where the caller pretends to be from the Internal Revenue Service. The way these scams work, is a target will receive a phone call from a robocaller that states they are the IRS and that they are filing a lawsuit against the target. The scammers then state that the person should call a listed number in order to find out more information. When people have called the scammer’s number they were told that they owed the IRS significant money, but could pay them using iTunes gift cards.
