Baltimore Ransomware Attack Triggers Blame Game

Ransomware attack on city of Baltimore triggers a blame game over who’s at fault for the attack. The May 7 attack against the city was the second to hit city systems in 14 months. Experts debate culpability over finding and stockpiling zero-days and exploits, as well as issues surrounding data breaches, leaks, software flaws and patch speed. Baltimore officials have refused to pay the ransom and say they’re working with the FBI to mitigate the attack and mitigate it. The city has not yet been able to resume operations after the attack, and many city operations remain suspended.”]
