The Babuk ransomware-as-a-service (RaaS) gang posted a goodbye note saying they’re hanging up its spurs. The message was posted for a short time on the main page of the gang s site, but it was taken down after a few minutes. The note said that they ll be open-sourcing the source code for the Babuk file-encrypting malware for other crooks to use. Babuk is new to the RaaS game, having been discovered just earlier this year. In just a few months, it went after at least five big enterprises, scoring $85,000 after one of its victims paid up the ransom.
