Avast has announced that they are shutting down their Jumpshot subsidiary that was selling user data collected by Avast’s antivirus software products. The antivirus company has been collecting user data and repackaging it through their antivirus products and selling it to other companies. Four of the extensions that tracked user data were recently delisted from the Google and Mozilla extension sites after being caught tracking copious amounts of data. Avast CEO Ondrej Vlcek apologized to its users and announced they will be shutting down the Jumpshots subsidiary.
