Audit: FDIC Must Boost InfoSec Scrutiny

Report: FDIC relies too heavily on statements from banks’ IT security efforts. FDIC says it’s working to strengthen its programs to help banks secure their IT security. The report comes in the wake of last year’s massive breach at JPMorgan Chase, which exposed information related to 76 million households and 7 million small businesses. The FDIC is working to provide examiners and managers with more IT training, the IG says.
