Andrew “Weev” Auernheimer, 26, sentenced to 41 months in prison for exploiting AT&T security hole three years ago. He obtained the ICC-ID and e-mail address for about 120,000 iPad users. He also owes restitution to the U.S. Treasury in the amount of $73,000. In January, Internet activist Aaron Swartz committed suicide while facing trial for allegedly stealing millions of scholarly journal articles from the digital archive JSTOR using MIT’s network.
