Atlanta’s Reported Ransomware Bill: Up to $17 Million

Ransomware outbreak left Atlanta’s IT team unable to use its PCs for several days. The city received a ransom demand worth $51,000 in bitcoins to unlock all affected systems, which it reportedly did not pay. Colorado’s Department of Transportation was also hit by SamSam ransomware in late February.
